Our Story

Tempus is the brainchild of Oli Maunsell - an experienced and popular local GP who has worked at various practices across the Thames Valley; including as a Partner at the Hart Surgery in Henley-on-Thames.

Oli qualified from Newcastle University in 2012, before completing his GP training in the Oxford Deanery. He built up experience in several hospital specialties prior to becoming a GP, and combines excellent clinical acumen with a true passion for personalised care. Oli has worked as a doctor for Henley Rugby Club, Goodwood Racecourse, the RFU and England Boxing, and is a current GP Trainer in the Oxford Deanery.

Perhaps unusually for a doctor, Oli is also no stranger to running a business. He set up and exited from two successful companies in his early twenties - before heading off to fulfil his childhood dream of becoming a doctor. Since qualifying, alongside his doctoring, Oli has held senior roles at three health-tech startups as Chief Medical Officer, where he has been able to combine his clinical and commercial experience.

A staunch advocate of the NHS, Oli continues to work one day a week in the public sector, drawing from both his learnings and frustrations from the coalface to ensure Tempus continues to solve a real-world problem. Access to prompt appointments, the ability to deliver genuinely comprehensive care, and providing good old fashioned continuity are increasingly becoming victims of a healthcare system in crisis.

Tempus aims to relieve the current, unprecedented pressure on the NHS by working collaboratively alongside it; affording patients the option of ‘dipping in’ to the private sector as they wish, without deregistering from their usual NHS GP.

Oli is currently busy building out a team of exceptional healthcare professionals who will be able to ensure Tempus redefines excellence in private primary care.
